Linlithgow String Orchestra's (LSO) forthcoming concert features music associated with two great Elizabethan periods. Byrd and Dowland (who respectively died 400 and 397 years ago) are truly great composers who lived during a turbulent period of religious division but also at the centre of artistic brilliance. We feature string arrangements of some beautiful melodies and lively dances. The programme also features beautifully-crafted music representing the British light music genre: Eric Coates' Knightsbridge March and By A Sleepy Lagoon (aka Desert Island Discs) and Alan Rawsthorne's Light Music For Strings. In fact the whole concert will be full of hummable tunes that you will not be able to forget... including Ronald Binge's Elizabethan Serenade.
